History

When you think of the Gold Coast you immediately picture; Sun, Sand, Surf, Mountains, Fun, Excitement and Adventure. The Gold Coast is a vibrant and electrifying city. Gold Coast Cabs has grown with the city and today marks the next milestone in our proud 73 year history.

Our company services an area of almost 1000 square kilometres that stretches from Pimpama to Coolangatta with a population in excess of 500 000 people. We have a fleet in excess of 350 full time licences and 38 substitute taxis that are also used for peak demand services. With this fleet we transfer more than 7 million people every year.

Our customer base is as diverse as it is possible to be: everyone uses a taxi at some point. We supply door to door accessible transport for our special needs community and carry over 100 special needs children to and from school every day. Our fleet of wheel chair accessible taxis has allowed around the clock freedom for people that was not possible 20 years ago.  

We have grown with the Gold Coast and have been instrumental in the development of the local tourism industry that today is unsurpassed in the country. Every day our drivers meet guests from all around Australia and the World. With the city's growth in hosting events our taxis service all of these including; The Titans, Big Day Out, Schoolies, Magic Millions and the new Gold Coast 600.

Gold Coast Cabs has been a major supporter of Green Initiatives, with most vehicles in our fleet using LPG which has been proven to produce 20% less ozone forming potential, 15% lower greenhouse gases and 1/5 air toxin emissions, than petrol. The remainder of the fleet consists of diesel vehicles and 59 hybrids. Our company has embraced hybrid technology and our hybrid fleet will grow quickly over the coming years.
